When Maaike Gons joined Merus, she brought with her years of experience working at major healthcare and pharmaceutical companies. She loves to apply her knowledge to our growing company. ‘We are getting closer and closer to our goal. You can really feel it.’

When Linda van der Horst joined Merus in 2016, she was our 45th colleague. By now, there are more than five times as many employees. ‘Even though we’ve grown rapidly, the mentality has remained the same,’ she says. ‘The people here really care about what they do.’

After finishing her Biotechnology studies, Loes Verhoog joined Merus as an immunology technician. Two years into her work, she shares her experiences. ‘During my first project, we could see the antibodies working well on the cancer cells in the lab. I consider that a modest milestone.’

After working on our IT Security as a freelancer for two years, Eric decided to join Merus permanently. ‘Drug development is a long and complex process. Supporting that process with IT is something I find particularly interesting.’

As a scientist, Benjamin Barasa is driven to make a difference for cancer patients. He is the Senior Translational Lead for one of our clinical programs. ‘My focus is on what we can do to help give patients a better quality of life. For me, our mission of closing in on cancer ties into that.’

Shekeab Jauhari has been a Medical Director at Merus since 2022. He oversees clinical trials for one of our potential clinical candidates. ‘I’ve had a longstanding interest in cancer drug development. I wanted to be part of the mission to develop new medicines.
